Sunrise Sharks News - Sharks Bytes 07/27/26

Happy Monday Shark Families,

Coaches Corner:

What a fantastic Champs meet you all had!!! I'm not talking just about making finals either. I saw you supporting each other and working so hard all weekend. I am so incredibly proud of you all, and I am so honored to stand with you and be part of this amazing Shark Family. Like every family nothing is perfect but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I learned a lot about each of you this season and I hope you learned about yourself!

We were in a three way tie for First place in dual meets this season and then we won second place at Champs!!! That is a second place that we earned as a team. Each of your efforts helped us get there. There are just a couple of swimmers earning points, we are a team. We win as a team and we succeed as a team. We are no longer a group of individuals. We are one team. We are the Sunrise Sharks!

I want to send big shout outs to all of families who worked hard this meet. Our team parents and snack bar folks who worked their fins off. Sarah Hodson and her team who worked computers and took some abuse, Sam Stephen who served as Meet Ref and definitely took some abuse too, Jason Stumbo and his crew for all the hard work they put in, Lynsie Bunton who is our league rep and had to hear my complaints all season but was always kind and underatanding, and Annie Perkins who not only serves us as many things but serves as an amazing NorCal VP of Champs and absolutely took some abuse this weekend from all sides. This team would not be where it is is without all of you. Thank you for every second and ounce of effort you give this team.

~ Coach Leslie

We’re still working out final expenses to determine our profit, but this is amazing for our team and we couldn’t have done it without our volunteers, thank you!
