Coaches Corner:
Welcome or welcome back, Sharks! What a fantastic first week! Let's keep up the good work! Next week will have a theme and it will be RESPECT. Respect for yourself, respect for your team mates, respect for your coaches, and respect for our equipment. What does that mean? It means showing up ready to work and doing your best so you can grow and get better. It means letting other swimmers hear the instructions and get to the wall. It means listening to the coaches (and reaponding so we know you heard us) and making the corrections we talk to you about. It means treating the equipment and facility with care. Let's work on all those things this week.
You all showed up and worked hard this week, but towards what? What are your goals this season? Let's talk about it! In the next few weeks I'll ask that all swimmers, who wish to do this, send me an email to [email protected] and tell me:
1. What are your goals before time trials?
2. What are your goals for the season?
3. Why do you swim?
4. What is the one thing that is most difficult for you in the pool?
This week I'd like for the 13/14 group to send me those goals, but want all swimmers to think about it.

Parent Reminders: PARENTS we need your help in reminding your swimmer of expectations & how to be ready for practice. All swimmers should be on deck, with swim cap & goggles on, and ready to enter the water at their practice time.
6U swimmers should be on deck and waiting against the bleacher railing for their coach to direct them. Swimmers aged 7-18 should have their kick board & pull bouy in hand and waiting near their lane for their coach to direct them.
ALL SWIMMERS should be putting their equipment away. Pull bouys and kick boards should be placed back in the cart, not thrown on the ground near the cart and definitely not left at their lane for coaches to clean up. 6U swimmers do not use pull bouys, but may return their kick boards back to the basket by their pool.
Parents we appreciate your support in helping to remind your swimmer of the above.

If you have a swimmer aged 13-18 who was previously on Sharks and was thinking of applying for the Jr Coach program, we are reopening it for this week. This is not a daily requirement, swimmers may volunteer for as many or as little practices as they want. If interested, please use the link below to have your swimmer read thru the information and complete the application.
Team Suits: We are aware Swimoutlet is out of stock on youth suits. We are working with them to fix the inventory and should have things worked out by the end of this week. Thank you for your patience while this is being handled.
Perkins Place: Volunteer jobs open April 10th @ 7pm. You can view job descriptions on the team website under “Team Info” and then “Parent Job Descriptions”. To signup for a job, go to the team website calendar and select “job signup” on the swim meet of your choosing, then select the job you’d like. There is a video tutorial here Volunteer Job Sign-Up and on the team website, under “Team Info”, then “2025 Season Info”, and scroll down to “Volunteering”. Please remember, each family needs to signup and complete FIVE shifts, ONE per meet. If you signup for more than one job per meet, you will be deleted from a job and need to select another. Champs job signups will be available in late June, families need to signup & complete two shifts at Champs, or one shift if you ONLY have 6U swimming. If you have any questions, please reach out to Annie Perkins.
1st week of practice had some cold but fun times in the pool!
